How to Add Your Own Products to your Blog Boutique

Below are easy-to-follow instructions with screenshots on how to add products and add a "Add to Cart" PayPal Button to your boutique.

1. Log into your blogger account.

Sign in to use Blogger

2. From your Dashboard, click on Edit Posts.

Edit Posts

3. Take note of the posts. The first post will be your Homepage post. The posts under that should be your product posts, then the last posts will be all the information posts. Notice the dates. Your Homepage post will have a current date. Your product posts and your information posts will be either ONE month or TWO months prior. The reason I do this is to keep the homepage post FIRST. Otherwise, each time you add a new information page OR product, that page will be first. You want your Homepage to always be first. Please note that I have also fixed it to only have ONE post per page, so that the Homepage post is the only one on that page.

4. Find a post with one of your products. Click on Edit.

Edit

5. Highlight and copy all text ONLY. Not the photo or the PayPal button.

Highlight and Copy

6. At the top of the same page, click on New Post.

New Post

7. Delete your signature if there is one.

8. Add your product photo by clicking on Add Image on the Options Bar.

Add Image

9. Browse to find your product photo and click on Upload Image. Click Done.

Add Image

10. Your product photo will now be in your new post. Right click and paste your text where it was placed on the other product posts keeping your product text uniform and consistant with each other. Change the product name, description, product number, price, etc. for the new product. Be sure to add a subject line, which should be the product name.

11. Add your Category. You will notice that if you type just a few letters of your category, the category will pop up and you can then select it. It is VERY important that you type in your categories EXACTLY as I have originally typed them otherwise your navigation will not show your new products UNLESS you are adding a new category. Spelling and capitalization is very important in keeping your categories correct. Please note the older products. I may have used several categories for one product, you may want to do the same for "search" reasons or if one product fits into several categories.

Add Category

12. Click on Post Options.

Add Category

13. You will notice that the Post Options area opens up to show the post date and time. As stated in Number 3 above, change the post date month ONLY to one month prior or two months prior, however I originally had it in the previous product posts. Click on Publish Post. Go check your Homepage. That new product post should NOT be on the Homepage. You should have to click on "Older Posts" at the bottom of the page to see that new post.
